Meditation uncomplicated
Responsibilities: Instructional design, e-learning development, graphic design.
Audience: people who want to learn about and start practicing meditation.
Tools used: Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, XD), Articulate Storyline 360, Miro.
Client: Cristina Pereira (psychologist, teacher)
Year: 2022
Overview
The client brought up the need to transform a pre-existing course with 8 modules, consisting only of video lessons and handouts, into a more dynamic, short and engaging learning experience.

In the analysis process, public restrictions were detected, such as prejudices against meditative practice and difficulty in assimilating long and theoretical content. As a solution, I designed the structure of a course with 4 modules, composed of short recorded video classes (low cognitive load), live meetings (synchronous), multimedia content focused on practices, handouts with assertive content, seeking an experience with a balance between theory and practice.

The final product was based on interactive screens (Articulate Storyline 360), gamification elements, short podcasts, audios for meditative practices, as well as text, videos and quizzes, which were hosted in an LMS.

Analysis
As an analysis and data collection tool, I used Action Mapping and an interview with a subject matter expert (SME).

From this initial conversation, I was able to carry out a contextual analysis and a realistic needs assessment, where I identified the main problems, objectives and possible solutions.
Design
The client already had a more complete course on the topic, but with a simple and synchronous format (live video classes and handouts). Therefore, to design the course structure and instructional design matrix, I was able to rely on pre-existing content to develop a more engaging and effective e-learning experience.

When choosing the tools, based on research and client reports, I chose to focus on meditative practices with the support of audios, podcasts, elements of community management and gamification, to create the habit of meditation, always focusing on practice.

In this process, I created:
-
Storyboard
-
Scripts
-
Visual identity
-
Prototype
Development
In the development stage, I created interactive screens to present the content and make podcasts, meditation audios and gamification elements available.

Together with the client, we produced new video classes and recordings of podcasts and audios of meditative practice, with short content focused on the essentials.

Throughout the process, I was able to create a visual identity and learning experience that matched the content presented, the client's pre-existing identity and, above all, that inspired concentration and focus on meditative practices.

Implementation
The course was published on the client's website, as well as on the Hotmart, Edools and Udemy platforms, respecting the limitations of each platform.
I participated in the entire implementation and monitoring process, including weekly monitoring meetings between the tutor and the apprentices.
Assessment
During the course, you were able to evaluate the metrics and carry out a post-course satisfaction survey with apprentices. The feedback from both the client and the apprentices was very good, with an average of 4.5 out of a total of 5 stars.

RESULTS
My biggest learning from this project was the importance of focus and coherence with the purpose of the course, as well as design and branding, which followed a pre-existing visual identity, expanding its application in the immersive and engaging learning experience.
I was very satisfied with the course's instructional design process, as I was able to apply a complete DI method, and I had close contact with the client and learners to design an experience that was very coherent with what the course proposed.

The final result was also very satisfactory for the client and apprentices, according to post-course research and feedback.
